Day 25 – Fire Hydrant

Olympus O-MD E-M10 Mark ii; Olympus M.40-150 F4.0-5.6 R

Today I bring a fire hydrant. I can hear the cheers for all the readers through the screen. Well as usual lets get into the details. I took this photo along a walk where I was capturing photos for a school project. Many of the other photos up at the moment where taken with the same intention. In this case I saw a fire hydrant spewing water and I thought it was a good photo to show the waste of water in the city. I feel that with the editing and framing it really does show the waste that is occurring. The photo was taken with an iso 200, shutter speed of 1/200 seconds, and an f 22. This led to the photo being .7 stops under exposed.

From all that I bring it into Pixlemator. Here I did not actually change to much of the lighting. The slightly darker picture did not overexpose anything so that was pretty good. I then added a filter that changed the colors slightly to make them more vivid and add more contrast. This allowed me to produce a photo that has more emotions and feel in that moment. With that I finished the editing.

Thanks again for reading my post. I hoped you enjoyed todays post. Quick question, would you guys like a video maybe to YouTube of how I edit one of the upcoming photos. I can maybe plan that out and maybe make it a weekly thing. Let me know if that is something you all would like to see. Well then see you tomorrow.
